Icebergs, midnight sun and Arctic light.
Thank you so much for coming with us on our boats in Greenland!
It was a joy to show you one of my favourite locations to photograph in the world: Disko Bay, Greenland. I hope you understand why I keep coming back here. Even though the place is the same, it never really looks the same. The midnight sun in combination with the cold and ice is truly magical. Every day there is something new: weather and ice conditions vary a lot, and the bay is like a living creature!

A little bit about where we were and the boats we called home for the week.
We were based in Ilulissat, a small colourful town on the west coast of Greenland. It sits right next to the Jakobshavn Isbræ glacier, the fastest moving glacier in the world, which calves the enormous icebergs that drift out into the bay. The glacier is fed by the Greenland ice sheet, the second largest body of ice on the planet after Antarctica.
Every day we sailed out into Disko Bay, and as you saw with your own eyes, the ice never looks the same twice. Different icebergs, different light, different weather. That is exactly why I keep coming back.
And of course there was the midnight sun. On our dates the sun never actually dips below the horizon, so we had that soft golden light all through the night. It is what makes shooting here so special, and the reason we were out on the water at hours that would be pitch dark almost anywhere else.
